Spectator Information

Narrow Gauge Map

All races during the Toyota U.S. Alpine Championships will take place on the world famous Narrow Gauge trail, which is no stranger to premier alpine ski racing. Originally cut in the late 1960s and named after the railroad that serviced the local logging industry at the turn of the century, Narrow Gauge was introduced to the world during the 1971 World Cup.

Fast forward 50 years, and Narrow Gauge is still a proving ground for the world's elite ski racers, having hosted multiple regional and national championships as well as the FIS Junior World Championships. Narrow Gauge is also an official U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team Development Site, serving as an on-hill training site for regional and national development projects and access for U.S. Ski Team athletes.

When it's not occupied by racers flying downhill at 70mph, Narrow Gauge is a favorite trail among Sugarloaf skiers and riders, who enjoy the challenge of testing themselves on the same terrain as the best skiers in the world.

EVENT POSTERS

Take home a piece of the 2022 U.S. Alpine Championships with a free commemorative event poster. Stop by the Downhill Supply Company in the Sugarloaf village to grab yours, and be sure to pack a marker to see if you can snag an autograph from some of the athletes competing in the races.

Awards

Sugarloaf's history is steeped in both logging and ski racing. In a nod to this heritage, we worked with Kiitella to produce custom axe awards for this year's U.S. Alpine Championships winners. Steel for the awards was locally-sourced, with a minimum of 90% recycled content, and cut to order in a nested layout to minimize waste.
