Sugarloaf Childcare

Non-Sleepers are asked to lay and rest their bodies for at least 30 mins

Childcare is located on the first floor of the Base Lodge.

Full Day:

• Sugarloaf Employee drop-off is 7:30 AM, and pick-up is 4:30 PM
• Sugarloaf Guest drop-off is 8:00 AM, and pick-up is 4:00 PM

Half Day:

• Sugarloaf Employee drop-off is 7:30 AM, and pick-up is 12 PM
• Sugarloaf Guest drop-off is 8:00 AM, and pick-up is 12 PM

If you need to drop off after 9 AM or pick up before 3:45 PM, please email childcare with your family’s needs so we can best accommodate you.

At the end of the Child's stay, only an identified adult who was listed on the Child's pickup may pick up the Child. Child Care Team members will ID the pick-up person to ensure it matches the name the drop-off person listed at drop-off. Sugarloaf Child Care will not release children to anyone who is not the listed pick-up person or a primary guardian. There will always be a team member at the front desk to assist in drop-offs and pick-ups.

Diapers

Children who wear diapers must bring their own diaper supplies (at least 4 diapers for full day; 2 for AM-only). Children who are using the potty or learning to use it will be reminded every two hours to use the bathroom.

Clothing & Gear

Each child should come prepared with clothes to go outside, an extra pair of clothes to change into if the child gets wet or dirty, indoor shoes, a water bottle, and wipes/diapers, as applicable. Each child will have their own cubby space to store their items during the day. For indoor play, we will still wear indoor shoes, socks, or slippers. More is always better than less, but we do ask that children leave personal toys at home.

Sunscreen, hats, and closed-toe shoes (Crocs are acceptable) are recommended when the weather is warm and sunny for outdoor play.

All of our children's art supplies are washable and non-toxic. We do our best to put smocks on everyone before we get messy; however, children should come dressed in comfortable clothing that can get wet or dirty.

Label Personal Items

Please label personal items like clothing, bottles, and bags with your child’s name. All medications must be in their original packaging. Prescription medication must bear the original label with the child’s name. All commercially bought baby food must be in its original, unopened packaging and labeled with the child's name. All homemade baby food must be in a container labeled with the child's name.

Lunch & Snacks

Sugarloaf Child Care Facility is always NUT-FREE. We ask that all children come with breakfast already in their bellies. We provide two snacks a day and lunches for children. If you prefer to pack your own food for your child(s), that is fine. We all have meals together in a family-style. If your child needs milk or bottles, that must be provided from home.

Children should not bring: gun-type toys.

All children are monitored for wellness at arrival. If a child becomes unwell during the day, we will promptly contact the parent or guardian.

Parents are required to pick up their child within one hour of being notified of illness.

Our program is not equipped to provide care for sick children. Prompt pickup is essential to prevent the spread of illness and keep our environment safe for all.

If a child is too ill to fully participate in normal group routines or outdoor play, they should stay home until they fully recover.

Children must be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before returning to care, without the aid of medication.

If a child is prescribed antibiotics, they must remain home for at least 24 hours after the first dose unless a healthcare provider advises otherwise.

Allergy-related symptoms and non-contagious conditions do not require exclusion when supported by a doctor's note.

We are always happy to answer questions about whether your child is well enough to attend. If in doubt, please contact us before drop-off to help us plan appropriately.

All reservations must be made by 3:00 PM the day before services. Reservations can be booked online or by calling guest services or the childcare center at 207-237-6774.

Advanced reservations are required to guarantee childcare services.

If you are unable to book, that means we have hit our capacity for the day and do not have any more space.

If you would like to cancel your childcare reservation, you must do so 48 hours before the booked date to receive your refund. After that, you can still cancel your reservation, but you will not receive a refund for the booked date.

Once booked, you cannot change your reservation date. You must cancel your reservation within the 48-hour window and re-book for your desired date.

Please keep in mind that canceling your lodging reservation does not cancel your childcare reservation. You must contact us directly to cancel.

• We do accept walk-in care when we are not at our licensed capacity
• The ONLY way to secure a spot in the childcare is to book by 3:00 PM, the day prior to the service date
• If you cannot book online, that means that we are FULL for the date you are trying to book care for
