Three new chairlifts and 150 acres of terrain added at New England Pass resorts

Major upgrades at Loon, Sugarloaf and Sunday River for upcoming winter.

Three New Chairlifts Opening

At Sunday River, the new Barker 6 is the fastest 6-person chairlift in North America and will bring guests to the summit in under 5 minutes. Adding comfort and safety, each chair is equipped with heated seats, a weather-blocking bubble, and a locking restraining bar. Sugarloaf’s Bucksaw Express high-speed quad opens this winter to provide skiers and riders access to the new West Mountain Expansion. Loon’s Timbertown Quad is a four-person chairlift located one and a half miles from Interstate 93 providing guests convenient access to the resort’s South Peak terrain from downtown Lincoln, New Hampshire. All three lifts are scheduled to open during the 2023/24 winter season.

Over 150 Acres of New Terrain

Sugarloaf is adding 120 acres of new terrain at the West Mountain area of the resort and includes 12 new trails. This is the largest expansion in over 40 years at Sugarloaf and further cements it as the largest ski resort east of the Rocky Mountains. Loon’s expansion at South Peak will add 30 acres of new terrain bringing the resort to over 400 skiable acres. The 11 new trails and tree skiing at South Peak are a blend of beginner and intermediate levels.

New England Pass Fall Sale Ends October 11

Skiers and riders can access all three resorts throughout the winter—to experience these improvements—with a New England Pass. The suite of passes includes Platinum, Gold, Silver, Nitro, Bronze and College Gold, and College Silver. Each pass offers varying levels of access and resort benefits at Loon, Sugarloaf and Sunday River. The Platinum New England Pass even includes an Ikon Base pass which provides access to resorts around the world. Skiers and snowboarders should buy their passes before prices increase after October 11.
