Over 80 miles of riding
Thanks to the efforts of the Carrabassett Region Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association (CRNEMBA) and the town of Carrabassett Valley, mountain bike trail development has taken off in recent years, with a network of world-class cross-country trails, originating at the base of the mountain and spanning more than 80 miles throughout the valley.
- Parking and trail access is available at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center, the Stratton Brook trailhead parking lot, and Airport trailhead (located behind the SugarBowl).
- During the summer, bike rentals are available from several area shops.
Upcoming Mountain Bike Events
The 2019 Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge is coming up July 13, and we're offering 15% off lodging all weekend. Take advantage of already low summer rates, and treat yourself to a condo or hotel room.
The Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel will offer free shuttle service from their lobby to the Outdoor Center for the Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge. Shuttles will leave from the Hotel every 20 minutes starting at 6:30am.
