Sugarloaf offers scenic chairlift rides throughout the summer season. Take in the spectacular scenery from the comfort of the Whiffletree Quad, and explore the mountain before enjoying a scenic ride back down.

Enjoy The Ride—Take In The View
Enjoy scenic lift rides on Whiffletree Quad Chairlift Friday through Sunday during bike park operations. The lift ride lasts approximately 15 minutes in each direction, with the downhill hike along the service road taking approximately 25-40 minutes based on hiking ability.
You can save on lift ticket pricing when you purchase in advance online—$20 per person online, $25 when purchased in person at Downhill Supply Co. or the Sugarloaf Bike Shop.
2025/26 New England Pass holders ride for FREE and can head straight to the lift.
Guests can now scan their email confirmation with QR code directly at the lift—no Go Card required. Already have a Go Card? Your Scenic Lift Ticket will automatically be loaded to it when purchased under the same account, so you can head straight to the lift either way.
If you don't have your Go Card and prefer to use one, you can print a new card for $5 at the Go Card PUB (Pick Up Box) in the Base Area.
Important: Either your Go Card or your email confirmation with QR code must be present to access the lift.
FAQs
If you have purchased a 2025/26 season pass but do not have the physical pass yet, you can pick up your pass at any PUB, located on the backside of Downhill Supply Co. in the Sugarloaf Village, simply by scanning the QR code included in your purchase confirmation email.
If you purchased a scenic lift ride ticket online, you can pick it up at any of our Pickup Box locations (PUBs) in the Sugarloaf Village, located on the backside of Downhill Supply Co. Be sure to bring your purchase confirmation email with you, as you will need to scan the enclosed QR code to pick up your ticket.
The lift ride is approximately 10 minutes each way.
No. Hiking on the mountain is at your own risk, and there is no patrol. If you need assistance, call Sugarloaf Security at 207-237-6961. If you have an emergency, call 911.
You can hike back down the mountain along the service road or take a chairlift. The last uphill chair loads at 5:45 PM Friday and Saturday, with the last downhill chair loading at 5:55 PM Fridays and Saturdays, and 3:55 PM on Sundays.
The chairlift will run rain or shine, but may be closed in severe weather or lighting.
If you have an ADA service animal, please let us know in advance of your arrival and we can arrange transport up to the top of the lift by other means.
Summer temperatures at Sugarloaf range between 60-90 degrees. The top of the mountain is typically 15 degrees colder than the base, so be sure to bring a warm layer. Weather can change quickly and without warning.
