It all began in 1947, when Everett Kircher purchased a Michigan mountainside for $1 and built Boyne Mountain Resort. That bold step ignited a legacy that continues to shape Boyne Resorts today—from Michigan to Maine, with the purchase of Sugarloaf in 2007. As Sugarloafers, we're proud to be a part of that story for nearly two decades, and we carry on the commitment of the Boyne Forever Foundation to our people, our landscapes, and the communities that make this mountain home.
