Sugarloaf Banked Slalom

Presented by GoPro, Burton, the Sugarloaf Board Room, and Winterstick, the Sugarloaf Banked Slalom returns on Saturday, March 21. Join snowboarders from all over New England and beyond as they unite to celebrate the growth of the sport and compete for the title of the fastest boarder around.

Based on the model of the Mt. Baker Banked Slalom, the Sugarloaf Banked Slalom is an open-registration event featuring a course of banked turns winding its way down Sugarloaf's iconic East Coast terrain. The objective is simple: the fastest rider to the bottom wins in each division.


Registration

Registration for the 15th Annual Sugarloaf Banked Slalom is open until Friday, March 20, at 5:00 PM, or until we reach our max field of 200 riders.

Registration is $65 and includes a custom registration gift. It does not include a lift ticket. If you don't already have one, a discount lift ticket is available when checking out. Please note, there are no day-of registrations!

Bib Pick-up

Join us on Friday, March 20, from 5-7 PM at the Winterstick Factory for a bib pick-up party and factory tour. Enjoy beverages from Orono Brewing Company while learning the process behind every snowboard build here at Sugarloaf.

For those unable to attend on Friday, day-of bib pick-up will also be offered on Saturday, March 21, from 7:30–9 AM in the Maple Room.

Location

The course starts on Spurline and ends at Lower Double Bitter, offering participants a longer race from start to finish. Please take the SuperQuad lift up and review our trail map in advance for wayfinding assistance.

Schedule of Events

Friday, March 20th:

Bib pick-up party at the Winterstick Factory on West Mountain from 5-7 PM. Come by and grab your bib in advance, enjoy a beverage from Orono Brewing Company, and take a factory tour.

Saturday, March 21st:

  • 7:30 AM-9 AM—Bib Pickup in the Maple Room
  • 9 AM-10 AM—Practice on Spurline to Lower Double Bitter (everyone gets one run)
  • 10 AM-2 PM—Race time (youngest to oldest). Each rider will get two runs, and the fastest run will count.
  • 2:30 PM—Awards will happen on the Beach after everyone has completed two runs. Prizes will include items from event sponsors.
