SUGARLOAF MARATHON 2026 RESULTS

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – Under partly sunny skies, warm spring temperatures, and breezy conditions, runners from across New England and beyond gathered at Sugarloaf on Sunday for the 42nd annual Sugarloaf Marathon & 15K, Maine’s oldest continuously run marathon and one of the Northeast’s premier distance running events.

In the men’s marathon, 37-year-old Adam Quinn of Stowe, VT claimed first place with a winning time of 2:26:28. Steven Fritzsche, 35, of Kennebunk, ME finished just behind in 2:27:02, while 38-year-old Matt Garfield of Wells, ME rounded out the top three in 2:39:20.

On the women’s side, 30-year-old Emma Robidoux of Portland, ME captured the women’s title with a time of 2:55:43. Christina Couper, 34, from Charleston, SC finished second in 3:03:02, followed closely by Natalie Nicols, 30, of Rumford, ME in 3:03:55.

In the 15K, 23-year-old Brady Fluet of Cumberland Center, ME took top honors with a winning time of 50:26. Tyler White, 30, from Orono, ME finished second in 51:55.

Among the women, 45-year-old Heather Gallant of Wayne, ME secured first place in 53:25, while 23-year-old Karley Piers of Falmouth, ME finished second in 56:31.

Sponsored by Landry French Construction Company and Darling’s, the Sugarloaf Marathon is certified by the United States Track and Field Association (USATF) and serves as an official Boston Marathon qualifier. Despite its mountainous setting, the course is widely recognized as one of the fastest in the Northeast thanks to its gradual 16-mile descent through the Carrabassett Valley.

Approximately 900 runners participated in this year’s marathon and 15K events.

One hundred percent of sponsor dollars from the marathon benefit the Sugarloaf Region Charitable Trust, a private nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in the communities surrounding the Sugarloaf region. On average, the marathon contributes more than $20,000 annually to local organizations and initiatives.

All participants received a commemorative t-shirt, finisher’s medal, and post-race meal. Cash prizes were awarded to the top overall male and female finishers in each race.
