Golf Instruction
The Sugarloaf Golf School helps players lower their scores and get more enjoyment out of their time on the course every summer. Whether it's a quick tune-up with one of our hourly clinics or an intensive week-long camp, Sugarloaf's staff of PGA Professionals will help you take your game to the next level.
Golf School
The "Get Golf Ready" programs are set to begin Tuesday, June 17th and Saturday, June 21st. Sign up for these programs will be through the Pro Shop.
- Full & Half Day
Group Lessons
Sugarloaf’s half day golf school is exactly what your game needs to prepare for your next round. The school’s focus is on polishing your existing skills, which will lead to immediate results on the course; thus, improving your golf experience. Each of the games fundamentals will be covered; full swing analysis, short game (bunker, pitching, and chipping), putting and golf course strategy.

AM ½ Day Golf School (9:00am – 12:00pm)*

PM ½ Day Golf School & playing lesson (2pm – 6pm)*

Group Clinic
The group golf clinic is the perfect place for any golfer learning the game or reviewing golf’s fundamentals. The program is designed to cover a different aspect of the game over a 5-6 week period; putting, chipping & pitching, bunker play, and full swing. Two sessions will be offered each Saturday and will be conducted by the club’s PGA Professionals.

Private Lessons
Get customized instruction from one of our Golf Pros. Whether you have a specific problem you'd like to solve, want to lower your score, or are just getting started, we'll help you take your game to the next level. Choose a half-hour or hour session for a quick tune-up or a series of 5 or 10 lessons for more in-depth instruction. To focus on lowering your score, try 9-hole playing Golf lessons and receive instruction on course management and strategy in a private 9-hole round with a PGA professional.

Junior Sports Academy
In memory of the late Alden McDonald, the Sugarloaf Golf Club and Town of Carrabassett Valley proudly offer local children, ages 5-17, the opportunity to learn the game of golf on Maine’s premier course. The summer-long lesson program includes:
- Free Club Rentals
- Elite Level Instruction
The academy consists of three different instructional levels, each providing instructional time with course pros, free clubs if needed, an unlimited junior membership, monthly play days, opportunities to play in junior events throughout the state, and an end-of-season awards cookout.
- Ages 5-7
Golf Cubs
For our youngest players, ages 5-7, this 10-week program will meet on Sundays from 2-2:50 pm. We'll focus on learning the fundamentals of the game with a high frequency of deliberate play. With this age group, the goal is a fun and rewarding introduction to the sport.
- All abilities welcome; recommended for first-timers.
- Complimentary rental clubs are available.
- Parents are encouraged to participate.
Registration includes all sessions, free clubs if needed, unlimited junior membership, monthly play days, opportunities to play in junior events throughout the state, and an end-of-season awards cookout.
- Ages 8-11
Alden's Linksters
Youth ages 8-11 are invited to participate in this summer-long, 18-session program on Thursdays and Sundays from 3-4 pm. Instruction will be fun and engaging, focusing on learning the game of golf, rules, and etiquette. About 50% of the time will be spent playing on the course.
- Free rental clubs are available.
- Parents are encouraged to participate.
Registration includes all sessions, free clubs if needed, monthly play days, opportunities to play in junior events throughout the state, and an end-of-season awards cookout.
- Ages 12-17
Tiger's Tees
Youth ages 12-18 are invited to participate in this summer-long, 18-session program on Tuesdays and Sundays from 4:15-5:30 pm. Instruction will be fun and engaging, focusing on learning the game of golf, its rules, and etiquette, with about 50% of the time spent playing on the course.
