The intent and purpose of Carrabassett Valley Academy is to foster focused individual student-athlete development by providing the optimum balance between outstanding college preparatory academics, responsible community living and world-class athletic training in competitive skiing and snowboarding.
CVA Weekend Programs
Young athletes can choose from several ski and snowboarding programs, dedicated to fundamental skills progression and competitive preparation and training. Athletes will work in small groups with coaches every weekend from the first weekend in December through the end of March. Additional training days and extended camps are also available throughout the winter.

CVA provides preparation and support for Weekend Program athletes at local (Sugarloaf) and regional (throughout the state and New England) competition events in all disciplines. Athletes and athlete families have the opportunity to experience competitive events in a fun, low-pressure, team-centered environment
Where to Go
CVA coaches and athletes are encouraged to utilize the shared space at the Bill & Joan Alfond Competition Center. On program days athletes will meet their coaches at 8:30 a.m. at predetermined meeting spots surrounding the base area. Athletes ski/snowboard in their groups until 11 a.m., at which time the program breaks for an hour-long lunch. Program resumes from 12 - 2 p.m. each afternoon.
