Sugarloaf Home Show & Upcountry Artists

Painters, jewelers, wood workers, and a whole lot more will be set up on Saturday and Sunday at the Sugarloaf Home Show and Upcountry Artists' Show. It's a great way to get a jump start on your holiday shopping while supporting local artists.

Pumpkin Decorating

Please join us in the Competition Center for Pumpkin Decorating from 9am-11am on Saturday. We'll provide pumpkins and art supplies, and the pumpkins will be displayed on The Beach for everyone to enjoy before you go. Free and open to all ages!

Music on The Beach

The Shakes will be rocking the Outdoor Stage starting at 11:30am on Saturday. This funky reggae rock collective from Central Maine (complete with a horn section) will keep us moving all afternoon while we reconnect with fellow Sugarloafers and enjoy beautiful views of our favorite mountain. Cash bars and BBQ available.

Magic Show

Winner of numerous awards including Close Up Magician of the Year, Jon Armstrong has brought his amazing skills and magical comedy to prestigious audiences in over 30 countries worldwide and his next stop is Sugarloaf! Catch his special Homecoming  appearance at Sugarloaf on The Beach stage at 1:30pm on Saturday. Jon's kind of a big deal in the world of magic; you may have seen him on:

  • The Today Show
  • The Tonight Show
  • Magic Castle After Dark
  • Penn and Teller 'Fool Us'
  • Masters of Illusion
  • The Bachelorette
  • Netflix's 'Magicians: Life in the Impossible'

Cinq a Sept

Each month, State 23 Media-home of Maine Home+DesignMaine, and Old Port magazines-hosts a Cinq à Sept cocktail party. These parties are celebratory gatherings of friends and clients, where with no particular agenda, our community can meet up and make connections. It will be at Sugarloaf during Homecoming, in the Carrabassett Room at the Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel from 5-7PM on Saturday. Invite only.

Maine Outdoor Film Festival

A Sugarloaf Homecoming tradition, the Maine Outdoor Film Festival returns for a special movie viewing on The Beach starting at 7:00pm on Saturday. Bring a blanket and a chair (or pull up a hay bail), we'll supply the popcorn!

Uphill Climb

Just like our founders, Amos Winter and the Bigelow Boys, you'll be trudging up the mountain with your hands, legs and heart. This is no cake walk. You'll run from the base of Sugarloaf to the summit (about 2400 vertical feet). You'll sweat. You'll gasp for breathe. And in the end, you'll have tackled the toughest mountain run in Maine. Race starts at the SuperQuad 11:00 Sunday morning.

Kids' Challenge

The Kids' Challenge is a rowdy, friendly, fun obstacle course held on the Landing Sunday at 10am. Proceeds from the Kids' Challenge benefit Early Care and Education Programs at Western Maine Center for Children. Registration is open Sunday from 8-10am on the Beach; $10 per kid. Age categories are 3-5, 6-8, and 9-11.

Winterstick Factory Tours

See how Winterstick makes custom snowboards right here at the Loaf! The Winterstick Factory will be open for tours from 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday, starting every half hour. Don't miss their Demo Sale running throughout the weekend.
