East Coast Pond Skimming Championship

The East Coast Pond Skim Championships is one of the highlight's of spring skiing & riding. Whether you are a participant or spectator, you won't want to miss out on the fun sponsored by our friends at Orono Brewing Company. Join us for the pondskim located up on the landing, and keep the party going down on the beach with DJ Rice Pilaf 12-4pm. 

Event Info

Registration 

  • Registration will be held in person on the Beach 9-11am; free for all ages. A parent/gaurdian signature is required for participants under the age of 18.
  • Registration is free; lift tickets or season passes are still required to access the lift
  • There will be a 100 person participation cap for this event
  • Prizes will be given out for the following categories: 
    • Best Costume
    • Best Splash
    • Best Run/style
  • The championship starts at 12pm and goes until each skimmer gets one run
  • Helmets and costumes are recommended but not required
  • Skis or snowboards only; no poles, sleds or tubes are permitted

Pond Skim Location

  • Skimmers will take Double Runner Lift to access the course
  • The venue will be located where Dropline meets Slasher. See map
  • Spectators are welcome to ski to the event using DRC lift, or walk up the landing to the event. Please note spectators will not be allowed on the lift without skis or snowboards.
