FAQs

  • The hike from the top of the SuperQuad Chairlift to the Summit takes most people about 15-30 minutes. It's a moderate hike that can be steep in some places, and the views at the top are well worth the effort!

  • No. Hiking on the mountain is at your own risk, and there is no patrol. If you need assistance, call Sugarloaf Security at 207-237-6961. If you have an emergency call 911.

  • You can hike back down the mountain, or take a chairlift. The last chair departs the top of the SuperQuad at 4:45pm.

  • The chairlift will run rain or shine, but may be closed in severe weather or lighting.

  • Sorry, bikes and dogs are not allowed on the chairlift.

  • Summer temperatures at Sugarloaf range between 60-90 degrees. The top of the mountain is typically 15 degrees colder than the base, so be sure to bring a warm layer. Weather can change quickly and without warning.
