Sugarloaf launches “Low Price Guarantee,” rewards guests for booking early
CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – With today’s consumers searching diligently for the best deals and waiting patiently for the lowest prices on their winter vacations, Sugarloaf has launched a new “Low Price Guarantee” designed to entice guests to book early by guaranteeing them the lowest prices of the season.
With the Low Price Guarantee, guests who book a ski and stay package of two or more nights at Sugarloaf by September 15 are guaranteed the lowest rates of the season. If the price on an identical package drops later in the season, Sugarloaf will reduce the original price to match.
“The trend we encountered last season was that more and more people were waiting until the last minute to book their vacations, anticipating that package prices would drop if they waited long enough,” said Brad Larsen, Sugarloaf’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “The Low Price Guarantee provides a great incentive for guests to book early, because they are guaranteed the absolute lowest price on their package, even if prices do end up dropping later in the season.”
Guests who book by the September 15 deadline will enjoy substantial savings on their ski vacations. For example, a standard rate for one of Sugarloaf’s “Peak Weekend” Packages for popular weekends in February and March is $119 per person per night. With the Low Price Guarantee, guests will receive a guaranteed rate of $85 or less when they book by September 15, a savings of $34 per person per night. And with the Low Price Guarantee, guests will enjoy the security of knowing they received the best possible deal on their ski vacation.
While Sugarloaf has long offered specific discounted early season packages, the Low Price Guarantee applies to any Sugarloaf ski and stay package of two or more nights that is booked by September 15, 2009, thereby allowing guests more flexibility and an opportunity for greater savings.
Sugarloaf has invested more than $1.8 million toward offseason upgrades this summer, including upgrades to its snowmaking system and lifts, as well as $600,000 in renovations to the Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel. The summer investment makes a total of more that $12 million in capital improvements at Sugarloaf since it joined the Boyne Resorts family in 2007.
