This is Seth Wescott. He’s kind of a big deal. He’s an eight time X-Games Medalist, World Snowboardcross Champion, 11-year US Snowboarding Team veteran, and he holds the only two Snowboardcross Olypmic Gold Medals ever awarded, from 2006 and 2010. He even holds 2 Guinness World Records.
Seth grew up riding right here at Sugarloaf, competed for CVA, conquered the world, and he still calls the mountain home. If you’re up here enough, chances are you’ll run into him in the lift line or grabbing a brew at Java Joes.
Seth honed his chops here at Sugarloaf, and now he is taking an active role in the future of the Sugarloaf freeride scene. He helped to design and build Sidewinder, our permanent snowboardcross course, played an integral role in the development of the PipeDreams Superpipe, and was a key player in bringing the Sugarloaf 2020 terrain expansion to life.
As he continues to wow the snowboard world with titles and first descents, Seth’s home and heart are here at the Loaf. And we can be sure that with Seth’s input, Sugarloaf’s terrain and its future are in good hands.
