Wednesday sets up the weekend
First let me start by saying that my love affair with the EURO grows tepid.
Last week it advertised this for today:
Anddddddd, it delivered THIS:
I mentioned last week that the EURO was struggling this winter, and that's a trend to keep an eye on for the rest of the season. What strikes me about it is that we can't credit the American GFS as getting BETTER, it's just that the EURO has somehow underperformed. Specifically it has over-amplified Nor'easters in the 5-6 day range...which used to be the wheelhouse for the espresso sipping number cruncher.
But still, we'll take the several inches of fresh snow today and look ahead to the weekend. And, for the first time in a while, the weekend looks good.
Sure, we had some dry weekends before but it was -15 F and if we're all being honest...that's not our favorite.
With a large scale ridge building in on Friday:
That kind of signal says "Right around 40 F" to me. Snowmaking will still be possible in the morning and at night, but during the day should be awesome.
Sunday is similar to Saturday, making this weekend 2/2.
I wish I could be there, but some jerk booked a trip to Georgia in mid January.
I'm getting what I deserve.
