The Accounting Clerk is a seasonal position (Nov - Apr). This position has been designed to provide support to the Accounting Department.  Applicant should have knowledge of micro-soft office suite with a concentration in Excel, an entry-level knowledge of accounting and be able to work with others in a corporate environment. Applicant must be prepared for a seasonal commitment; to be able to give attention to detail in a busy work environment and have a can do attitude.

Seeking organized, detail orientated, self-motivated, enthusiastic team player to join the Building Maintenance Team.  Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Performing basic maintenance on plumbing, electrical, appliances, furniture, and general building maintenance trades.  Must understand oral and written directions.  Must be able to work alone, work safely and have the ability to operate basic hand and power tools.  Must Pass security screening prior to hiring. Must have reliable vehicle and hold valid drivers license. The chosen candidate for this  position will be eager to provide outstanding customer service and grounds maintenance services to ensure a high quality experience for Sugarloaf Guests and Property Owners.   He/She will have a good working knowledge of OSHA Standards and Digsafe protocol, and possess a serious attitude toward safety of self and team.   Duties include, but are not limited to equipment operation, firewood deliveries, plowing, sanding, and some manual labor.  Winter may include late hours or a varied schedule, depending on storms.   Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.   Must have experience operating plow trucks and other large machinery, and must be able to provide good references.   Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license at all times.   Applicant must work well with a team and be able to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and duties.

Mountain Operations

Full Time Seasonal

Prospective Team Members must be in good physical fitness and able to hike 2-3 miles carrying 50lbs.  Work duties include chainsaw, brushsaw, and/or polesaw  operation as well as other trail maintenance duties including erosion control practice. Previous chainsaw operating experience is preferred, but not mandatory.  All hires will go through our own chainsaw safety course. Prospective Team Members must be team and safety oriented and have reliable transportation.  Work schedule is Mon-Thurs, 10 hr days, with flexibility to work around the weather.  Starting pay is $10. 


Lift Mechanic Technician

Full Time Year Round

Lift mechanics install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot lift equipment as well as assist lift operations with the start-up and shut down of the lifts each day. Mechanics must have the ability to read diagrams and manufacturers' manuals, fit bearings, rebuild sheaves and sheave trains, service grips and perform other mechanical procedures requiring specialized training. The job duties will require all applicants to work at great heights, in all weather conditions, at any time of the day or night. One year of responsible experience performing automotive maintenance and repair work, with ski area mechanic experience desirable. Millwright or apprentices with ski industry experience a plus.

Snow Controller

The Snow Controller operates pumps and compressors in the Snowmaking Department. Must have knowledge of running pumps and compressors and be a good communicator. Be able to maximize efficiency, run necessary components according to temperature. Monitor water and air flows; turn compressors and pumps on and off accordingly. Report to the snowmaking manager and keep in contact with snowmakers about equipment running on the mountain. Need to be able to run computer program for water pumps, compressors, maintenance logs. Apply pertinent information from computer to the snowmaking operation.


Race Administrator

Full Time Seasonal

Schedule varies according to events.  Will be responsible for race entries and results for competitions, secretarial duties and working with large groups of volunteers.  Must have good computer and people skills and be available to work flexible hours.  Knowledge of ski racing a plus.  Skiing not necessary, will start approximately in the beginning of December


Snow Surfaces Assistant

Part Time Seasonal

Purpose of this position is to provide clerical support for the Snowmaking, Terrain Park and Grooming Departments.  Duties will include record keeping, data entry, and tracking of snow production, answering phones, using hand held radios, filing, and monitoring the snow operations computers at times.  Candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills and possess strong computer skills (preferably Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with course/event setting and preparation, transporting equipment, setting fences, and support in running all events. Ability to ski/ride all types of terrain is a must. Experience in course setting is a plus in this position, but will train qualified candidates.


Snowmakers

Full Time Seasonal

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to; operating snow making equipment on mountainous terrain in all types of weather including set up, start up, operation of and shut down of snow making equipment, checking snow gun functioning capacity and monitoring snow quality. Must be able to work flexible schedule including day and night shifts, weekends and holidays, and be able to negotiate all types of terrain while maneuvering snow making equipment. You must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions. All shifts available with an anticipated start date in early November.
Qualified applicant must be at least 18 years old and able to lift, bend, kneel and carry a minimum of 40 lbs.

Knowledge of snowmobiles, ability to maneuver through crowds safely, ability to work on minor problems on the machinery.  Driver is responsible for driving a snow machine pulling a sled with children on it. Must have have a strong back and arms and have a great sense of humor.  Safety training on machinery and snowmobile usage helpful.

Oversee the operation of the indoor facility, keep it organized and efficient. Assistant Ski Pros, and Supervisors and ensure that guests needs are being met. A Day Groups Frontperson should be flexible, easygoing, and comfortable answering and asking questions. The ability to easily switch from one task to another is a must for this position. Duties include all Ticker Seller responsibilities as well as coordinating Day Groups tickets and maintaining connection with Group Sales department.
