Charity

Sugarloaf works hard to give back to our local community and the Mainers who make it possible for us to pursue our passions in the mountains. Through the Sugarloaf Region Charitable Trust, charitable events like the annual Sugarloaf Charity Summit, and regular donations to non-profit organizations, Sugarloaf has generated millions in charitable giving over the years.

Sugarloaf Region Charitable Trust

The Sugarloaf Regional Charitable Trust is a private, nonprofit trust, dedicated to improving the quality of life in the communities that make up the Sugarloaf area. The trust provides financial assistance to organizations with nonprofit, tax-exempt status. The goal of this assistance is to encourage the growth of existing human service and cultural organizations and the development of new organizations that will involve and improve the lives of those who live, work and recreate in the Sugarloaf area. These organizations will be able to rely on a certain level of assistance from the fund and therefore be able to develop long-range plans of growth.

The Sugarloaf Charity Summit

The Sugarloaf Charity Summit, Sugarloaf's premier fundraising event, provides an opportunity for Sugarloafers, old and new, to join forces in the fight against cancer. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $2 million for Maine cancer charities.

Charitable Partners

Downhill 24

An annual fundraiser for the WinterKids organization, the Downhill 24 raises nearly $300,000 each year to help Maine children develop healthy lifestyles and stay active during the winter months. Participants ski and ride in teams for 24 consecutive hours - the only opportunity to ski under the lights at Sugarloaf.
