Once your device is wireless-enabled, using our service is this easy

  • In most cases, right mouse click on your wireless icon in the system tray. Then left mouse click on "View Available Networks". This will give you a list of available networks.  You want to connect to "blueStreak".  If the "Connect" button is disabled check off the "Connect to this network even though it is not secure" box.
  • Leave your wireless network name (SSID) blank or set it to "blueStreak" -minus the quotes-to gain access.  Network encryption and/or authentication will not work; therefore, if your existing wireless profile encryption key (WEP) is enabled, either disable it or create a new profile without encryption.  Many users will need to re-boot the laptop at this point to refresh your IP-address settings.
  • Next, you will need a standard Internet-ready browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator on any operating system.  With a properly installed wireless network card just launch your browser and connect to the Internet.

Still Unable To Connect?

If you cannot connect, please verify the following:

  • Make sure you are receiving a signal.  If not, check that your wireless card (if applicable) is properly installed and you are within range of our signal.
  • Confirm that your wireless network name (SSID) is blank or set to "blueStreak"
  • Verify that the Network encryption key is turned off or blank and authentication is turned off in the profile you are using to enable public network shared access.
  • Contact blueport Wireless at 866-239-6400 24hrs/day 7 days a week.

We strongly recommend that our customers take measures to ensure the security of their Internet connections.  Like any high-speed service,  the wireless network is not inherently secure.  Although we support customer initiated security solutions such as VPN, encryption and personal firewalls, we do not provide these solutions for our customers and cannot guarantee or otherwise be responsible for their respective effectiveness.  It is the customer's responsibility to adopt security measures that are best suited to their situation.
