Experience Sugarloaf like never before aboard a Segway Personal Transport. This unique adventure will get you off the pavement and onto some of Sugarloaf's trails for an experience quite unlike any other. Segway tours will start from The Outpost Adventure Center located in the Sugarloaf village.
Segway tours will be available daily through September 7th, Thursday - Monday through September 21st, and then Friday - Monday through closing day, October 12, 2015. Reservations are strongly encouraged.
20 minutes -$20
This option gives you basic coaching and the ability to hone your skills.
90 minute guided tour -$59
This option gets Segway coaching, and then gets you off-road and into the Sugarloaf trail system.
What you need to know before you ride
- Hiking boots or athletic shoes are recommended. Open toed shoes, sandals, and bare feet are not permitted.
- All riders are required to wear a helmet, which will be provided for you.
Riders should be in good physical shape.
- If you are pregnant, have heart trouble, or any serious medical conditions, this activity might not be for you. If you have questions or concerns you should consult your medical provider before participating.
- All riders are required to sign a liability waiver. Riders under 18 years will require the signature of a parent or guardian.
As with all activities at Sugarloaf, the safety of our guests and employees is our top priority. Our Segway PT guides will fit you and will review important safety information prior to every tour. Guides are trained extensively in proper techniques and procedures.
Age Requirements: 14 years and older
Weight Requirements: At least 100 lbs and no more than 275 lbs
Walk in's welcome Saturday and Sunday if space is available, but reservations are the only way to guarantee your ride. There are 7 Segway PTs available for each tour.
Reservations are not required for the 20 minute option, just a desire to let your hair down and try something new.
Segway tours will operate in most weather, but may be cancelled due to heavy rain, lightning, high winds, or other factors. Likewise the tour route may be altered due to weather and/or trail conditions. Please check the local weather forecast, dress appropriately, and keep in mind that weather in the mountains can change in an instant. If there is a forecast of inclement weather on the day of your reservation, we encourage you to call 207-237-6875 to check on the status of the ziplines.
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. You are responsible for the full charge if you fail to show up for your reservation or cancel within 24 hours of your reservation time. Late arrivals will not be refunded or issued vouchers and will not be able to join the group. Tours will leave at the scheduled time as a consideration to the other guests.
