Nothing quite beats hanging out with 200 of your local New England homies at Sugarloaf for one of the East's last snowboard-only events! Snowboarders will unite to celebrate the growth of the sport and to rip it up by many definitions of the phrase. Sugarloaf will host the fourth annual Banked Slalom on Saturday, March 15th and Sunday, March 16th, 2014. Based on the model of the Legendary Mt. Baker Banked Slalom, the Sugarloaf Banked Slalom is an open-registration event, featuring a course of banked-turns, winding its way down Sugarloaf's iconic East Coast terrain.
The objective is simple: the fastest rider to the bottom wins.
Sugarloaf is hosting the Banked Slalom as a 2-day event. There are 200 total spots for the Banked Slalom. We believe our spots will sell out, so be sure to register right away.
Since the event will be a 2-days, riders will have the chance at 2 runs on Saturday and another 2 on Sunday, taking the best time from each day. The best two runs on Saturday and Sunday will decide a racers position in the finals.
The 2014 Sugarloaf Banked Slalom event registration is $40 and will include a goodie bag from event sponsors, an event t-shirt courtesy of LL Bean and course access, etc. This does not include a lift ticket. Lift tickets for Banked Slalom riders on Saturday and Sunday will be discounted to only $30 per day. So, if you don't have a pass, your total for the event weekend will be $100. Tickets may only be purchased as a two-day pass for $60 total. Tickets may be purchased at Saturday registration ONLY.

The Sugarloaf Banked Slalom is open to snowboarders only. Since the event will be 2-days, riders will have the chance at 2 runs on Saturday and another 2 on Sunday, taking the best time. Racers will also have the opportunity for course inspection and practice on Saturday morning from 8:00 am - 9:30 am. Awards will be handed out to the top three overall times for Men and Women, and the top three times in each age category (for both men and women). Racers who take home the overall spots will be removed from their divisional chase. Therefore, overall champs will not be considered for divisional standings.
You can pre-register for the 4th annual Sugarloaf Banked Slalom by visiting the registration link below: UNFORTUNATELY THE EVENT HAS BEEN SOLD OUT! ANY FINALS SPOTS FROM NO-SHOWS WILL BE AWARDED AT 9:30 AM ON SATURDAY MORNING OF REGISTRATION. A WAITLIST WILL BE PREPARED AT REGISTRATION FOR FINAL SPOTS.
Registration will remain open until Friday, March 14 at 12:00 pm, Noon or until we reach our max field of 200 riders. If there are still openings the night before the race, we will accept registrations on Saturday morning from 7:00 am - 10:00 am in the Guest Services area at Event Registration. Registrations will be awarded day-of on a first-come, first-serve basis.
If you're under age 18, be sure to get your parent or guardian to fill out our Liability Release Form for the Banked Slalom! You'll need that paper at registrion to compete, UNLESS your parent or guardian is there in person to sign!
Join us for a Pre-Registration Celebration at Widowmaker on March 14 at 6pm. Riders who have pre-registered should also plan to pick up their Registration Packets at this time.
All riders should pick up their pre-registration packets at the Pre-Registration Celebration / Riders Meeting. Any packets that are not picked up will be available at the Maple Room at 8:00am on qualifying race day.
There will be another Riders Meeting Saturday evening (Time TBD) to discuss Sunday's format, etc.
Each rider will need to have a release form filled out before the event. Download a Banked Slalom on the website. Come with it signed and ready to go on Friday to help streamline your registration process.
