What a great 1st day we had at the 6th Annual Sugarloaf Banked Slalom. We will be posting final results and tomorrow's running order shortly, please check back soon.

Running order will still be by age but not by bib number, the fastest time in each category will go last.

EVERYONE will be going through to tomorrow's race so get ready for another day of Banked Slalom fun!

Banked Slalom 2016 Schedule of Events

Friday, March 18th

Registration Party at the Widowmaker Lounge sponsored by K2
6:00PM - 8:00PM

All racers should pick up race bib, pre-purchased lift tickets, and goodie bags at the registration party Friday night. All racers will need to be there, in person, to sign waivers. Friends and family will not be able to pick up your race packet. Please make sure a parent or guardian is present if under 18.


Saturday, March 19th

Last Minute Bib Pickup - Guest Services
7:30AM - 8:30AM

Anyone who was not able to make it to the registration party needs to pick up their bib no later than 8:30AM Saturday on the first floor of the base lodge in the Guest Services area. Please note, there is NO day of registration.

Course Inspection - Banked Slalom Course; Sidewinder Trail
8:00AM - 9:00AM

You will NOT get a chance to ride the course before the competition begins. If you would like to scout the trail from the sidelines, this is your chance. The course starts at the Jean Luce Race Timing Building. Fastest route up is via the Double Runner West Chair which will open early for racers ONLY at 8:00AM.

Riders Meeting - Top of course; Jean Luce Building
9:15AM

Fastest route up is via the Double Runner West Chair.

Qualifying Racing
9:30AM - 3:00PM

Run order will be organized by bib number which will be assigned youngest to oldest. Each rider will get two runs; second runs will start around Noon. The best time of the two runs will count towards qualifying. The bottom 20% will be cut from Sunday's finals.

Riders will drop every minute (average). Plan accordingly and be ready for your run. With over 200 competitors, we do not have time, nor will we wait for you to arrive.

Saturday after party at The Rack hosted by LL Bean and Winterstick
8:00PM - 10:00PM

Live music with Jason Spooner and giveaways at The Rack, located at the bottom of the Sugarloaf access road. All ages welcome!

Sunday, March 20th

Course Inspection - Banked Slalom Course; Sidewinder Trail
8:00AM - 9:00AM

Finals Racing
9:30AM - 3:00PM

Two runs per rider. Both runs will proceed youngest to oldest, by bib number. Second run will begin around Noon. First run times will be displayed and announced, second run times will not be available until the awards ceremony.

Awards Ceremony - Widowmaker Lounge
3:00PM (Approximately)

Second run times and final results will be announced in the Widowmaker Lounge, top floor of the Base Lodge. We will announce and award prizing to overall winners as well as top finishers in each age division. The ceremony will include bib drawings, door prizes, and giveaways. All ages are welcome!
