CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – November 7, 2011 – The Bank of Maine has teamed with Sugarloaf and Sunday River, Maine’s two largest ski resorts, to offer Maine residents discounted lift tickets, rentals, and ski school packages during “Maine Ski Day” on Sunday, December 11.
All Mainers who show proof of residency will enjoy deep discounts, including $29 lifts tickets, $20 ski or snowboard rentals, and $39 Learn-to-Ski or Snowboard packages from the Perfect Turn Ski and Ride School.
“At The Bank of Maine, we know the value of a healthy and active lifestyle,” said John Everets, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for The Bank of Maine. “Skiing is a great way to stay active in the wintertime. As Maine’s bank, we are honored to be able to partner with two great Maine Mountains to kick-off the ski season. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to the citizens of Maine, just as we have done for 177 years.”
As one of Maine’s largest banks, The Bank of Maine features 33 branches and 43 ATM sites throughout the state. Founded in 1834, the bank and its charitable foundations have returned over $25 million to Maine communities through contributions and grants.
“We’re very excited to be working with The Bank of Maine again this year, and this is a great opportunity for all Maine residents to experience two of the East’s premier ski resorts,” said Brad Larsen, Sugarloaf’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With discounts on tickets, rentals, and lessons, this program offers all Mainers a chance to get out on the snow, whether they are first timers or lifelong skiers.”
Sugarloaf and Sunday River are Maine’s largest ski areas, offering a combined 285 trails, 1,798 skiable acres, 30 lifts, and nine terrain parks, as well as a full calendar of events throughout the winter season.
In addition to the discounted rates, Sugarloaf will also feature its annual Demo Days and Holiday Gift Bazaar on December 11. Guests will be able to try out the latest offerings from the ski industry’s top manufacturers for just $5, and shop for unique holiday gifts made by local artists and artisans.
