Auburn’s Tim Millett wins Alden MacDonald Junior Golf Invitational at Sugarloaf
CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – Tim Millett of Auburn, Maine won the overall championship at the annual Alden MacDonald Junior Golf Invitational at Sugarloaf on Thursday, firing a blistering 75 on the notoriously challenging course. Kylle Bonerfant and Eric Hall finished the day tied for second overall, with a score of 82.
Corey Harmon of Carrabassett Valley was the winner in the 13-14 year-old category, finishing the day with a 93 over 18 holes, with Jake Dremann of Rumford and Hunter Slackville of Scarborough just one stroke behind.
The annual event features play in four age categories: ten years old and younger, eleven to twelve, thirteen to fourteen, and fifteen and over. The tournament is held annually at Sugarloaf as a way to celebrate the memory of Alden MacDonald, who started a trust fund with his own donations in order to help sponsor golf schools for children at Sugarloaf.
