Welcome to summer at Sugarloaf

Summer 2009

Dear Media Colleagues,

It’s always hard to believe, but even the longest of eastern ski seasons must come to end at some point. And as we wrap up yet another incredible winter at Sugarloaf, our focus has turned to summer and the one of a kind Sugarloaf Golf Club, which now enters its 24th season as one of New England’s top courses.

Under the direction of longtime Director of Golf and NEPGA Merchandiser of the Year Scott Hoisington, the Sugarloaf Golf Club is poised for another great season. New course superintendant Bob Bruce brings a new focus on course details and improved player friendliness, which will make a round of golf at Sugarloaf more enjoyable for the average golfer. Additional ongoing course projects include the completion of the fifth-hole renovation, improved drainage throughout the course, and an ongoing tree harvesting program to open up more sunlight to shaded areas.

There is much more to a Sugarloaf summer than golf, of course, and this summer we will once again offer our highly popular Guided Adventures Program, headed up by Master Maine Guide Bonnie Holding, who returns with her 20-plus years of experience guiding clients through the woods and rivers of Maine. Sugarloaf also offers guests Moose Watching Tours and Guided Pontoon Boat tours of Flagstaff Lake, as well as numerous activities in the resort’s majestic mountain surroundings, including hiking, mountain biking, fishing and more.

In this year’s Media Guide you’ll find information on many of Sugarloaf’s summertime offerings, and if you would like to experience any of them firsthand, please consider this letter an open invitation. I would love the chance to chat, provide you with additional materials, or arrange your visit.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to seeing you at Sugarloaf this summer.
